Outriders is a third-person role playing video game developed by People Can Fly and published by the European subsidiary of Square Enix. It was released on April 1, 2021 for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Microsoft Windows and Stadia.

Upon its release, the game got positive reviews both from the critics and people. It has been mentioned that the main campaign of the game is around 25 hours long and post that people have hours of game content to enjoy. The game was released as a complete package and without any separate DLC content. However, Paul Tassi, Bartek kmita, the creative director at People Can Fly have stated that they are not abandoning the game and are interested in creating some future content for Outriders.

In an interview they revealed that they have some great ideas and a lot more stories to tell about the Outriders which they couldn’t have fit in the main story. People Can Fly have clarified on many occasions that, Outriders is a complete game with no content being left out of the main story for any DLC in the future. However, they come out with some Downloadable Content for Outriders if people are interested

“We never said that we would abandon the game,” Kmita explained. “This isn’t a games-as-a-service, but if people like it, we will definitely be doing more things in the Outriders universe. We have so many more stories to tell, and a lot of ideas we want to explore that we couldn’t fit in the original game, so we’re happy to create more content in the future. Anything we would make would be in the form of significant expansions with self-contained stories.”

At launch, Outriders saw over 100,000 concurrent players on Steam along with tens of thousands of players playing on consoles as well.

On top of that, there were over 170,000 viewers watching Outriders content on Twitch as well. This shows that Outriders is a huge success for People Can Fly and Square Enix.

Outriders Gameplay and Plot Overview

Gameplay

Outriders is a role-playing game played with a third-person perspective. In the starting of the game players create their own custom characters and select from four classes, which have their own unique abilities:

• Trickster: Which can manipulate time.
• Pyromancre: Which can manipulate fire.
• Devastator: Which can unleash seismic attacks.
• Technomancer: Which can use turrets and other devices.

The campaign can be played entirely in single player, or in co-op with up to three players. Players can use different kinds of weapons which can be customized such as shotguns and assault rifles. Players combat both monsters and humans and are able to regenerate their health only by killing enemies. As players progress, the level of difficulty increases. As the players explore, they can communicate with non-playable characters as well. Apart from that, during cut-scenes dialogue trees also appear, which may decide the conclusion of the conversations, without affecting the story of the game.

Plot

The game is set in the future. During the middle of 21st century, the climate disaster has grown to an extent where it has become impossible for Humans to deal with it. To preserve humanity, major governments come together to form Enoch Colonization Authority (ECA), with the motive of making a far distant planet called Enoch as a colony of Human civilization.

Outriders, a team of elite soldiers happen to be first humans to step foot on planet Enoch, who discover about a deadly energy storm. After having known about the storm Outriders warns ECA to abort the mission, which ECA clearly turns down and instead sends a team to take down the Outriders, and that is how the story unfolds.

For most people who had pre-ordered the game it would likely be very easy for them to get the pack. However, if you missed to pre-order the game you don’t have to worry as you can buy the content pack from your store for $6.99.

Remember that, players who are playing Outriders by means of Xbox Game Pass won’t approach Hell’s Rangers content pack as the game isn’t viewed as pre-requested. Thus, you should go through some cash in case you’re hoping to get your hands on this stuff.

Where to find Hell Ranger’s Content in the Game ?

PCF has clarified in their dev update last week that Hell’s Rangers pack will be available “via your stash for anyone who owns it.” Here’s a quick step-by-step guide on how to access it in the game:

•  You need to have pre-ordered the game or have purchased the pack separately via the store.
•  You need to complete the game’s prologue and reach the Rift Town section where you’ll find your Stash.
• Head over to your Stash and then go to the “Inbox” tab. There you’ll find all your weapons and armor pieces.
•  Your player needs to be level 10 to equip Hell’s Rangers with armor and weapons, as confirmed by PCF.

Outriders PC System requirement

People Can Fly officially announced that the game is now available to pre-load on Steam for PC users. If you’ve pre-ordered Outriders on Steam, you can now download it via the Steam desktop app. For Epic Games Store users, Square Enix has clarified that pre-load is currently not possible on that platform.
