Whether this will work or not, we’ll see. Pro Evolution Soccer, compared to FIFA is nearly not as heavily monetized , so they rely more on game sales in terms of revenue. Therefore, making PES 2022 a free to play game could be extremely risky for Konami.

An exciting feature for PES fans is the new licenses each year – especially after Konami secured Juventus for PES 2020.

Since then, the Konami has bee able to secure some exclusive rights for Roma – and has partner deals with some other clubs as well, including Bayern Munich, Manchester United and Arsenal.

What about licenses for new PES 2022 ?

It would be like making presumptions at this stage, especially with the complications of league licensing deals that EA has with the Premier League and Bundesliga.

If we had to stick our neck out, perhaps another French club alongside Monaco like Lyon could be a sensible shout – with the Groupama Stadium easily imaginable on a PES title.
