Superhero Games are something that we have always loved. Superheroes are some of the most likable characters which tell us stories about triumph of good over evil. The game was originally released in 2009 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 and on PC as well for Southwestern parts of North America. Later, versions for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One came out in 2015, as Prototype Biohazard Bundle which consists of both the parts of the game.

We play as Alex who has shapeshifting abilities. As the protagonist of the game has to stop an outbreak of a plague which is mutating people and turning them into monsters. While trying to find out about his past, he encounters a Black operation force called Blackwatch and the US military. It is an open-world action-adventure game which is set in Manhattan, New York. Much like any other sandbox game, Prototype also allows players to free roam across Manhattan.

Apart from being one of the best superhero games, it is also a role-playing game, which allows players to make their decisions in different situations, and based on those decisions the protagonist of the plot gains more powers and abilities, and becomes either more evil or good. The superpowers of Delsin Rowe include, ability to manipulate materials such as smoke, neon, video, and concrete.

Marvel’s Avengers is an action role-playing superhero game that came out in 2020 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. Now it has been remastered and released on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S as well. Based on the Marvel comic’s Superhero team Avengers, the game has majorly drawn inspiration from the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), apart from its original comic versions.

For those one or two oblivious people, who don’t know anything about what are we talking here, then Avengers is a team of superheroes or people with superhuman abilities, who fight against supervillains, aliens and extra-terrestrial beings to protect the Earth. The plot of the game revolves around, of course, The Avengers, and it consists of all the primary characters such as, Steve Rogers A.K.A Captain America, Tony Stark A.K.A Iron Man, Thor, Bruce Banner A.K.A The Hulk, Natasha Romanoff A.K.A Black Widow and Kamala Khan A.K.A Ms. Marvel along with some other characters that were added later.

This multi superhero game is played with a third-person perspective has both single player and multiplayer mode. The plot of the game revolves around Batman and his insurgency’s attempt to restore society after the fall of Superman’s Regime; however, the arrivals of the newly formed supervillain group “The Society” and the alien Brainiac force Batman to consider freeing the imprisoned Superman to help combat the threats.

Along with the story and improved gaming mechanics, Injustice 2 has abundance of in-game content and character customization options. A new feature was also added to the game, which is called the Gear System. It is a loot-dropping system that rewards players with costume pieces and equipment that can be used to customize characters’ appearances and modify their abilities and stats.

Marvel’s Spider-Man: Mile’s Morales is probably the latest in the list. Its a sequel and a spin-off to the 2018’s Marvel’s Spider-Man. It is an action adventure game played with a third person perspective.

Well, I believe we all know about Spider-Man, and how you can become Spider-Man. All you need is a body-tight suit, some techy gadgets, and of course you gotta to be bitten by radioactive spider. So we’ll just simply cut to the chase and talk about the plot of the game. We play as Marvel character Mile’s Morales who got bitten by the radio active spider in the previous part. Peter Parker becomes his mentor, but right after the first mission he leaves New York for some project in Europe.

The city is left for Mile’s to protect. Everything goes well for the kid from Harlem until, a war breaks out between Roxon Energy Corporation and the Tinkerer’s high tech army, The Underground. Mile’s Morales gains pretty much every spider ability that Peter Parker had, along with some new powers such as, Venom Blast, Bio-electricity, Camouflage, etc. This is surely one of the best superhero games of all times.

Now, it is up to you whether you want to go with the previous model or with the all new facelift version. Keeping jokes aside, in reality this game is the best ever Spider-Man game, and second-best Superhero game of all times.

This Marvel game came out first in 2018 for PlayStation 4, and later for PlayStation 5 in 2020 as a remastered version, where Peter Parker’s face was revamped. Anyway it doesn’t really make a difference as long as the graphics, gameplay, story, and the amazing swinging mechanics are either improved, or remain the same.

The main campaign is set in Manhattan, New York City, where Peter Parker A.K.A Spider-Man along with some his allies and friends such as, Marie Jane Watson (his ex-girlfriend), Yuri Watanabe (NYPD Captain), Mile’s Morales, etc. The plot of the game is an amazing blend emotions and action. You could actually see through the struggles of being Spider-Man, yet not having a choice to strip away from responsibilities of being Spider-Man.

But what makes this game so special and one of the best of them all, is its fantastic gaming mechanics. The combat system, wall crawling and running, using different gadgets, and smoothly swinging through the entire city without stopping makes us feel like our beloved web-slinger.

Well, you saw that coming, didn’t you ? Batman Arkham series, is one of those superhero games that has to be your collection. The world’s greatest detective and his foes have been depicted and presented in the game in the best possible manner.

The exhilarating campaign, fantastic combat system, fancy gadgets, armored suit, beautiful visuals, formidible enemies, engaging background scores, this series has pretty much everything you could ask for in a superhero game. If there was just one game to choose from the whole series, I would have suggested you to go with Batman: Arkham City. But why to settle for less when you could get all three games, Batman: Arkham Asylum, Batman: Arkham City and Batman: Arkham Knight, in one single collection.

This is that one series, which is available across almost all platforms, except PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. However, this world’s best superhero game, is soon going to have a spin-off sequel, Gotham Knights, which is likely to come out in late 2021.
