Sony’s Remote Play feature allows you to play your PlayStation 5 games on a different device, like a PC, smartphone, and PlayStation 4. This works using streaming technology, bouncing a video signal from your PS5 console over the Internet.

As per the official PlayStation website, PS Remote Play allows you to play, stream and switch between your favorite PS5 and PS4 games, view the home screen of your console, and also browse your console’s menu through any compatible device that is connected to your broadband network.

This means, that you can pause the game that you are playing, access the remote play app on the device you want to choose, and your game will be there, ready for you to continue playing from right where you left it. Or you can switch on your PlayStation console and start playing directly from the app, with no need to ever switch on your TV.
