The Music of Red Dead Redemption 2: The Housebuilding EP was announced a couple of days ago. According to Rockstar Games, the five-song EP will be released on February 12, 2021. It has been made available to pre-order on iTunes ahead of its release.

In case you want a physical copy of the new EP, you can find a limited edition blue splatter vinyl on Lakeshore Records and Rockstar’s online store for $17.98, which is a pretty good price even for a 10″ 33 RPM LP. Plus the art on the jacket is lovely, to the point that I suspect many Red Dead fans will buy it even if they can’t play the actual LP.

The highlight of this EP is “The Housebuilding Song” which plays in the background during the epilogue chapter of Red Dead Redemption 2. If you have ever played RDR 2 and managed to reach the epilogue, you shall be able to recall, that John Marston buys a ranch at Beecher’s Hope to convince Abigail that he is done with his past life as an Outlaw. After getting a loan from a bank in Blackwater and receiving help from Charles and Uncle, John Marston builds a home for his family, to live happily ever after. (Of course, until the events of Red Dead Redemption)

If you haven’t yet experienced the glory of “The Housebuilding Song” and how beautifully that scene was created, where you could see the passion in John for providing his family and gratitude towards Arthur Morgan for enabling that by the end of the main story, you may check out this video.
